ACFC knocks Dinamo Lokomotiv off the rails with 5-0 win

Angel City FC quickly overcame some early match jitters to dominate an aggressive Dinamo Lokomotiv side 5-0 Tuesday night at Griffith Park taking the team to 3-0 for the season with a goal average of +16.

ACFC midfielder David 'Puma' Alarcon -- voted the match's team MVP -- kicked off the scoring with a strike at the seven-minute mark and added a second off an impressive header from a David Woirhaye corner kick 11 minutes later.

The team had been practicing set plays the night before during training.

Ben O'Meara rung the tally up to three less than two minutes later, knocking Dinamo completely off it game plan for the remainder of the game. And Dan Sapienza rounded out the first half scoring with a shot from outside the box at the 36-minute mark. The team's scoring prowess was backed up by solid checking in the midfield and a study defense, which held Dinamo to only two actual shots on goal over the full 90 minutes.

The second half saw more scoring opportunities, with ACFC playing a counterattack game. O'Meara notched his second goal on the night towards the end of the second half following a great run up the field and pass from defender Dan Klein.

Keeper Dave Styles recorded his second successive shutout on the night and sports an impressive .333 goals against average over three games.

Angel City next sees action Feb. 3 against the Silverlagos at John Ferraro with an early 6:30 PM kickoff.
