For its second annual food drive, ACSL collected more than 170 items for the Westside Food Bank. These items will be distributed to families in need through a network of over 70 organizations serving the LA Westside.Area shelters and organizations have reported the need is about 30-40% above normal, and over one million people in Los Angeles County - about 10% of the population - are currently seeking food assistance of some kind. Most say they never thought they'd be in such a situation, and it reminds us that being dealt a few bad hands in a row can really change one's circumstances quickly.
