Tiit Tikenberg, Ben Kull and David Woirhaye each notched a brace while David Alarcon, Sevan Hanimyan and Heitor Herculano added singles for the win. Michael Magid was solid between the posts, supported by strong defensive efforts from Leo Wallach and Kirby Adams.ACFC now has a record of six wins, two ties and a loss going into next week's season finale against Valhalla, who were in second place -- tied with Finn McCool United -- before this week's matches. A win will guarantee the silverware.
Angel City FC also improved its record to five wins and four losses with a scrappy 8-4 win over McDermott FC. Tikenberg scored an impressive five goals in the match which also saw singles from Matt Onheiber, Russ Muratov and Ricardo Ledoux. Peter Marlenga guarded the posts well throughout the match, which started off as a much closer game in terms of chances and ball control before the home side knocked in a few. Angel City sat tied for third before this weekend's matches and will finish the summer season out next week with a rematch against The Wailers. The highest the team can finish is second overall in the Sevilla Division.
The AC Allstars finished out Saturday's action with a hard-fought and often confrontational 3-3 tie with the Beverly Hills (say no more) Allstars. The game started on a sour note with an own goal off a header, but the AC Allstars fought back from behind twice to tie the match. Two BHers were red carded -- one for a retaliatory kick to player and the other for blatant dissent towards the ref -- before the final whistle. Heitor Herculano notched the initial tying goal, while Tikenberg added another two to his day's tally of nine, including a dying minutes goal to finish up the match 3-3. The AC Allstars record in the Setanta Division improves to three wins, a tie and five losses, with the squad looking forward to closing out its summer season next week with a rematch against the LA Soccer Club.
All three squads are coached by Billy Alarcon and managed by Ben Kull.
